Q: Have a Kohler 5kw marine generator with only 135 hours, its in a 2006 Searay, assuming it is a 2006 as well, I have a code of CO6, which i research to be a bad CO sensor, is that correct and is this the proper replacement sensor for that issue / model? Single Phase 25C 5kw, serial number #######, SPEC; GM39685-GA1
That is a 5ECD and GM46362 is correct.
CO6: Fault code is displayed if the CO sensor is inoperative.
This is normally just a sensor replacement. The sensor should be replaces every 2 years per the maintenance schedule.
Q: Is there a 02 sensor on my 7.3 ecd ser#2082644. Gives a co3 code has plug but no 02 sensor. This is the printed circuit board not the exhaust one. Other tech has worked on it. Thanks
A: The CO sensor GM46362 (printed circuit board) is located on the back of the ADC controller. CO3 is a communications fault between the ADC and CO sensor. If the sensor harness is there and the controller has the mounting spot for the sensor, it must be installed or the unit will shut down. The CO sensor should be replaced every 2 years per the service schedule to prevent failures.
